Milagro, Owner: Letetia Deyzel, Port Elizabeth- South Africa
My name is Letetia Deyzel and my cute Chihuahua's name is Milagro , we call her Mila. Milagro means in Spanish “Miracle”
Let me tell you about her miracle. When Mila was about 8 weeks old (I only had her for a week) she was totally paralyzed one morning when she woke up. I took her to the vet and the vet told me and my husband that she must be put down because of something that was wrong with her brain and that she will never will have a normal life. We told the vet that we are going to pray for her because we serve a living God that can heal. At first the vet was very skeptical but eventually let us take her home. We prayed for her and ask God to heal her for us because He knows how much we loved her and that she is a very special cute Chihuahua .
She still got 3 more fits and while holding her in my arms 2 old ladies we knew came to our office and saw the little dog and immediately also started to pray for her. The 2 ladies just left when I started to give her something to eat and she started to lick my fingers with the food on and raised her head to look at me I just knew that she was healed . I put her down on the floor and she started to walk around the corner to my husbands office. We give Jesus Christ all the honor of healing our little angel. Wherever we go we always testify of how our Chihuahua was healed she is really a testimony of Faith!!! The vet could not believe her eyes when we went to show her that evening the same dog that she wanted to put down the morning. After that day she was treated as real royalty by the same vet. We realized that everything is possible through prayers even if it is for dogs. This is my story of how my Mila got her name!! Hope she will be a inspiration to other people and dogs going through the same heartache!
Peaches, Owner: Ruth Cunningham - YankeeBelle Chihuahuas
I put a deposit on this cute Chihuahua Peaches when she was 2 weeks old. She was supposed to be 4-5 lbs. as an adult. When I went to get her at 12 weeks, she was so very tiny... but I bought her anyway. Not the kind of pup I would recommend for most folks... frail and fragile. I noticed that her eyes stayed irritated, so I took her to my vet who diagnosed entropic eyelids... the lashes turned inward and scraped on her eyeballs... infected and oh, so PAINFUL!
She had eyelid surgery and that fixed the problem, but she is to this day shy of anyone's hand coming near her head. We had to hold her down and put meds in her eyes after surgery, and she hated it... that and wearing the e-collar. She is 3 years old now, has been spayed, and still needs a heating pad to maintain her body temperature when she is not in my shirt or sweater. She weighs 2 1/2 pounds and always wears a sweater. This frail little one is also anorexic... she had to have an appetite stimulant given, or she wouldn't eat at all.
Then in February of 2009 the appetite stimulant didn't work any more and Peach has been syringe fed, 3-4 times a day since. And she is doomed to live in a pen, with a heating pad... to keep her warm and to protect her from the normal sized dogs unless I can be right with her to make sure no one hurts her and that she doesn't get too cold. Few folks have the time, energy, patience and resources to take care of a teeny one like this.
Some teenies, marketed as teacups... can be healthy... but more often than not, end up with illnesses and conditions that you don't anticipate when looking for a new family member. Many teenies are sickly runts and many are the results of breeders trying to breed smaller and smaller no matter the conditions of the dogs being bred, just so they can produce something resembling a Chihuahua, call them teacups and get more money for them. I set out to take care of this little imp, and now I would trust no one else to give her the care and attention required to keep her safe, warm, fed, and happy. It is a passion of mine to educate folks about these poor teenies who can never have a completely full and happy life. PLEASE BEWARE OF ANY BREEDERS WHO ADVERTISE TEACUP CHIHUAHUAS! Peanut, Owners: Mr & Mrs Lingard-Carthy- Fleetwood, Lancashire
Our little Chi, "Peanut" is his name, is almost 6mths old & a real character.
We recently discovered after buying our little girl a harmonica, that Peanut likes it too.
Whenever she blows it, playing her songs, Peanut sings along with her best way he knows HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWW!
It is so cute & he does it every time & even goes quiet the minute she stops playing.
Maybe we should teach him "You aint nothing but a hound dog" LOL.
Will keep you updated on his musical career.
Kind Regards, Mr. & Mrs. Lingard-Carthy
